Elizabeth was a painter whose abstract work broke free from right angles, embracing bold and sweeping curves. I wanted the tympanum to reflect that same spirit of movement and release. The soul effigy’s wings flutter with rhythm; her hair curls like waves, while the feathers beneath her neck radiate outward.

The capitals of her name are thin, tall, and dignified. The italics depart from convention, taking on the warmth of a more graceful and welcoming cursive hand.
