The Burying Point | Salem, MA

This replica was meticulously crafted to replace a colonial headstone shattered into fragments in 2010.

Originally carved in 1761 by Boston stonecutter William Codner, it has been faithfully reproduced with exceptional attention to detail. Every crooked line was carefully replicated using high-resolution photographs of the original.

Considerable effort was made to match the original slate’s clear grey hue, preserving the headstone’s authentic appearance and honoring its centuries-old legacy.
